  I visited this place all the time when I was a student. When I first went I thought it was just a want-to-be Japanese restaurant. This place is probably the best Japanese restaurant on the this side of the state. They have real Japanese food and real taste. I love that it isn't just about sushi too.

  Truth be told I was not expecting much, the appearance of the establishment had me rather skeptical that those rating them so highly knew what good food was. However, I tried their curry as one reviewer suggested and was not dissapppointed. The flavor was on point and the serving size was appropriate. The only reason it wasn't 5 stars is due to the general appearance in regard to cleanliness. The state of the kitchen, from what I could see, didn't exactly inspire confidence in the quality of the food; despite that it was still quite tasty.

  Pretty good food, with prices reasonable for the area. Food is expensive around campus, so this means on the order of $9 for a rice bowl with meat.

  I love this small town Japanese restaurant. It has charm good food and friendly staff. They serve good food at a reasonable price with portions that are just right.

  This place can have potential if they staffed employees with good customer service. My experience was horrible. The two college aged boys were very inappropriate when we first arrived. While our order was being taken the server was cursing at the other employee. I felt very disrespected. Most of the tables were dirty which I would understand if it was busy but it wasn't. When asked for water we were told we can get up and get our own very room temperature water out of a jug. Our food wasn't even hot, it was served lukewarm to cold. We ordered mochi ice cream to go and were disgusted. We have previously ordered mochi ice cream from them and it was good but this time it had a gritty texture. We called to see if they would refund us, we were assured they would so we drove all the way back and they refused to refund it on top of insulting me. They took the mochi ice cream but didn't refund or even try to replace the other kind that was clearly off from taste and even appearance. It looked as though it melted and then re-froze. They spoke to us horribly and wouldn't let us talk to the owner or given any information on how to resolve the issue. I am so disappointed and upset with this visit, I have come numerous times before and was not treated this poorly. They clearly need to look into hiring a better wait staff. I will not be returning to them and I highly encourage others to save your time and money and skip this horrible dining experience.
